Making money with adsense is no easy feat, it takes time and hard work to get to a point where you are making any decent kind of money, the reason I have wrote this short eBook is to show a technique I have been using to consistently make $50 per month and more with small mini sites that you can put up in 1-2 weeks and leave to run totally on auto pilot, the strategies that I use are by no means revolutionary and are not things people will never have heard about, it is just a simple strategies that I have used that I find really works well, again and again. The strategy involves making small niche sites with 5-20 pages of content, then promoting them heavily over a couple of weeks. This is not going to be a particularly long book and I am going to try and keep to the point and avoid adding any fluff. Don’t underestimate it though as I think you will find it’s not just how many pages a book has, it’s the quality of the pages that are in it so without further ado let’s get started. The method I am talking about in this book is using small niche wordpress sites to create residual income from adsense I would advice using wordpress as this is what I use for my own sites and I find them really easy to create fast and easily and there are so many useful plugings available to help your blog perform and extend WordPress to do almost anything you can imagine, from seo plugins to Google analytics plugins to comment moderator plugins there are literally hundreds, at the end of this eBook I will put a list of my favourite plugings that I use in my sites.
Now some of you may be thinking well why not use free blogs like blogger.com, well this is fine but one thing you need to remember is, you don’t own a blogger blog, you need to think in the long term buying your own virtual real estate is a must if you are serious about your online business and it is not really expensive hosting will cost you less than $10 a month and a your own .com domain name is like $10 a year and if this is a little too much just buy a info for like $1-2 when you think of this in real terms $20 is not a lot of money to start a business also a lot of hosts will offer unlimited sites for your $10 I personally use hostgator at http://hostgatorbonus.info/ and you can add as many sites as you like and if you do it right your first mini site is going to cover all your costs and more.
The first thing you need to do is decide the niche your mini site will be in, for this method when I am looking I use the free Google keyword tool at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal/ and spyfu at http://www.spyfu.com/ what you are wanting to find are subjects that people are paying high amounts per click, a few good examples to get you going are Weight loss, Viagra, mortgages, home loans, making money online, real estate, insurance etc. Now this amount shown is not the amount you will receive this is the amount advertisers are paying Google, but Google pays you an undisclosed percentage of the amount the advertisers pay for their clicks, when I say undisclosed this is because Google do not release the actual percentage they pay publishers but in my experience I tend to find around 20% on the average CPC (don’t quote me on this is just my opinion).
An example of this would be a cosmetic surgery costs site I built not so long ago according to spyfu the cost range advertisers were paying in this niche was roughly $1 – 9 so what I would do is take an average of the lowest and highest amount which in this case would work out to $5 then take 20% of this which would be about $1 dollar a click now this is just my theory and don’t count on it but it has worked well for me in the past.
So once you have found a niche the next step is keywords, in my opinion this is one of the most important things when creating these sorts of mini sites, what we are looking for are words that get a reasonable amount of traffic with a lowamount of competing pages, for my example I will use car insurance now I have literally chose this as I am writing but I suspect it will be a high paying niche and low and behold I was correct, some really high cpc keywords in this niche so what we are trying to do is find low competition keywords, firstly you need to put in a broad term in to Googles keyword tool to find keywords on, in this case I am going to add car insurance then click on get keyword ideas at this point the keyword tool will spit out lots of related keywords, next you want to look to the right top corner of the list of keywords there you will see a little drop down menu titled Match Type drop this down and change the default from broad to exact, this will give you the exact amount of times these keywords are searched per month, next click on the title Global Monthly Search Volume, this will sort the keywords in order from highest to lowest searches, this just makes it easier for finding the keywords we are looking for.
So what are the keywords we are looking for, I personally narrow the keywords I use to between 500 – 2500 exact searches a month so you want to find terms in this range that have fairly low competition in Google. Now I just picked a keyword at random from the list which is 17 year old car insurance according to the keyword tool it gets 720 exact searches a month when I checked it in Google I see they are only 13,500 competing websites, the way, to find the exact amount of competition you need to place your keyword in quotation marks like so “17 year old car insurance” I generally like to try find keywords with under 15000 competing pages so this site just squeezes in there, one more thing I like to do after this is remove the quotation marks and search it again to see what the 1st page competition is like, in this case it is good news the highest rank page is 4 which may be a bit harder to beat, however there are a few pr 0 and 1 pages on the first page this tells us we can get there too with relative ease, the way I find out the PR of each page is buy using a fire fox add on called seo quake you can learn about this at their website http://www.seoquake.com/ this add on is totally free so get on over and download it you’ll soon wonder how you managed without it.
So there you go that’s one keyword, generally I try to choose about ten different keywords so just repeat the above process until you have 10 good ones. You are also going to need a keyword rich domain name for this I use go daddy at https://www.godaddy.com/ you can get a .com for under $10. So here is where you should be by now
- Hosting account
- Keyword rich domain name
- 10 good keywords
Ok so now it’s time to do a bit of writing personally I like to outsource my writing you can easily find writers in marketing forums like digital point or similar marketing forums, a general price would be around $1 per 100 words in our case our articles want to be roughly 400 words long so you’re probably looking at around $30-40 or of course you can always do this yourself but I just prefer to outsource, if you have chosen 10 keywords you want an article on each keyword with keyword density of roughly 3-5%. You are also going to want to choose an adsense theme for your wordpress blog I like the themes at http://www.nicheadsensethemes.info/ they are highly affective adsense themes designed in such a way as to promote clicks on your ads.
Once you have your articles you can start to post them to your blog this is where the marketing begins what I like to do is post one article a day to my blog, after this I go through the article and roughly change it up a bit, just so it is not identical to your blog post, then I post in article directories I post at Ezine articles, Article base and Go articles which will rank well and bring some good qualified traffic to your blog, I also post at Isnare using their distribution service basically once your article approved it is distributed around smaller directories these are not going to bring a lot of traffic however they will provide you with a lot of quality back links.
One of the most important things to remember in your articles is your back link back to your site you want to use a strong call to action and good anchor text so for example if your linking back to your article about 17 year old car insurance then this is the keyword you want to use in your back link not only will you receive traffic from your articles but over time these keyword rich back links are going to improve your position in the search engines which is the over all aim of this process referring traffic from articles is good quality traffic however the chances are it won’t stay up in the search engine forever usually a month or 2 maybe less sometimes so we want our site up there and we want to make sure it stays there.
Next get yourself over to http://www.socialmarker.com/ this is a free tool it can help you spread your links on 48 of the best social bookmarking sites in fewer than 15 minutes!
- It helps you get a lot of back links.
- It helps you increase your traffic.
- Your link gets indexed by Google in a matter of minutes.
- Best of all, it's free!
I like to do this for every post on my blog, think about this, if you post a bookmark in every social site for 10 articles that’s nearly 500 back links it can take a little while and is a little boring but it can be very powerful. Also download directory submitter at http://directorysubmitter.imwishlist.com/ this is a free tool to submit your site to web directories the free version lets you bookmark your site in up to 350 high rank directories you can also upgrade to the gold version which offers you 3 times the directories but it’s up to you I just stick with the free version personally Another 2 good ways I get good back links is forum posting and blog commenting on related sites you can download some free software at http://www.thefreeblogcommenter.com/ that will help you find do-follow blogs that pass page rank, the important thing to remember here is to add value to any conversation you are commenting on, if you just leave comments like nice post and then a blatant link back to your site people will see this as spam, so if it’s on a blog the chances are your comment won’t be allowed and in forums you might find yourself getting band try to read through the post or conversation and then make a relevant comment that contributes to conversation, by doing this you will also find more people are likely to click your link I try to do 5 of each every day again your building those quality back links and adding more little streams of traffic.
That’s it really guys like I said at the beginning I wasn’t going to fluff it up with rubbish it’s just straight to the point, this is a technique I have used on lots of mini sites now and the results are fairly consistent as long as you have a high paying niche and you do some good keyword research and don’t skimp on the promotion it’s going to make money no doubt about it generally I find they can make from $50 a month to a few hundred dollars per mini site, you just need to stick at it guys, the more content you get out there the more money you are going to make.
This technique is also not totally limited to adsense you could promote affiliate products in the same way, for example you could promote a clickbank product. One thing I will add to this however is, I find you tend to have more success with only one promotion per site and don’t link to much to other sites you want to give your reader less options where they can go after they finish they can either leave, go to another page on your site, or click an add this will drastically improve your click through rate.
Possibly the most daunting thing about this process is actually setting up wordpress, but trust me it really isn’t hard I learnt everything starting from scratch just watching videos on you tube, all the information is there and even better its totally free, thats the exact reason I took so long to get started with my own virtual real estate but I honestly wish I had got started earlier there is so much more potential and you are free to do anything you want, ratherer than being restricted by rules at say blogger.com also in my experience self hosted wordpress blogs tend to do much better in the search engines. I hope you have found this information easy below I have broke down the process into a simple action plan.
